OVERVIEW
The park is named for the Tarangire River, the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire. The wildebeests and zebra migration pass through Tarangire. During the dry season, thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park drawn by the life-giving freshwater of the river.
HIGLIGHTS
The Tarangire River is a gathering place for many animals, especially elephants. They can be seen digging at the river during the dry season.

Many impressive termites mounds are located here. - View the giant Baobab trees which can live up to 600 years and store between 300 and 900 liters of water grow in Tarangire
- It may be possible to spot tree climbing African pythons
